The Uniform Mitigation Assessment Method (UMAM) is Florida’s exclusive process for determining the amount of mitigation needed to offset impacts to wetlands and other surface waters and for awarding and deducting mitigation bank credits.  This course emphasizes the legislative intent of UMAM and provides a practical overview of the UMAM framework, to include an examination of Part I and Part II assessments addressing reference communities, functional assessment scoring, mitigation calculations, and time lag, risk, and preservation considerations.  This interactive session brings together time-tested and novel perspectives, unique case studies and best practices for producing consistent, defensible UMAM submittals.  Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their tough questions.
