Josef M. Fiala is the Managing Attorney for the Everglades and Environmental Law Section in the Office of Counsel at the South Florida Water Management District. He leads a team of attorneys supporting the District on environmental and water resource matters, including environmental resource permitting, Everglades restoration, procurement and construction, land management, enforcement, tribal relations, resiliency, and federal project agreements. With more than 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, including prior service with the District and extensive commercial, administrative, and appellate litigation experience, Mr. Fiala now focuses on advising the District on environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, procurement, construction, and natural resource issues.
